Possesion of Lands by Saraguros

The north part from Loja´s province was inhabited more than 11.000 years ago by hunter-collector groups, they were nomadic or semi nomadic people and there have been found limited ruins from them. In these same territories during 1473 and 1471 was started a period of conquest by the Incas, under Pachakuti Inka Kingdom.

The inca domination goes with the installation of colonist from other regions. These groups of mitimaes probably from different origins and through ethno historic data confirms the presence of Saraguros in these lands.

When conquers arrive all kind of proper life is interrupted, and of course in a definite way all kind of social, economical, political and cultural development from more than 3000 years.
