Vermilion Flycaycher Ecuador
Size: 14,5 – 15 cm. it is a common and conspicuos species. Habits in semiopen areas with scattered bushes and trees. not infrequently around houses and farm buildings, in more arid lowlands of west and in arid highlands. A few austral migrants occur in lowlands of east (jul-aug). Male: unmistakable: crown, lower face and underparts brilliant scarlet, contrasting with blackish upperaparts and mask through eyes. Female, west slope: Ashy brown above, paler on forehead and sootier on wings and tail; wing virtually plain. Throat and breast white, breast with dusky streaking becoming pink to redish pink on belly and crissum.
habits: They found often in pairs, perching in open and usually on lower bushes or trees, fences wires.
