Bat Falcon Ecuador
BAT FALCON SOUTHERN ECUADOR, CITY OF LOJA
24 to 28 cm.
According Ridgely and Greenfield this Falcon is widspread at borders of humid and deciduous forest and woodland, also in trees isolated in nearby cleared areas, in woodlands and foothills of east and west.
This Bat Falcon has been recorded for first time in the city of Loja, in the down town of the city. The average range for this falcon is from lowlands until 1000 meters. Here in the city (2100 meters). It was found by casuallity since I heard a falcon in the Parque san Sebastian, and I saw him flying over. There are 2 falcons male and female and they use mostly the tower of the park or Reloj Publico which is 40 meters tall.
