OPTION 1.PODOCARPUS NATIONAL PARK – CLOUD FOREST –

CAJANUMA.

06h45 Leave to Cajanuma

Hiking and birding along the road and trails around the visitor center.

Target birds: Gray breasted Mountain Toucan, Bearded Guan and many others

12H30 Leave and return to Vilcabamba or LOja. End of the trip.

OPTION 2. PODOCARPUS NATIONAL PARK – TROPICAL FOREST – BOMBUSCARO RIVER..

05h30 Leave to Zamora. Time of trip 02h25 minutes

Hiking and birding along the road and trails in the Podocarpus National Park

Target Birds: Amazonian Umbrella bird, CoPpery chested Jacamar, hummingbirds and many others.

14h30 Return to Vilcabamba or Loja.

OPTION 3. PODOCARPUS N. PARK – CLOUD FOREST, TAPICHALACA RESERVE, ZAMORA.

05h30 Leave to Zamora. Time of trip 1h25 minutes

Hiking and birding along the road and trails in the Tapichalaca Reserve.

Birding in the reserve and seeing many hummingbirds at the feeders, and walking 40 minutes to see the endemic and famous Jocotoco Antpitta and many other birds.

15h30 Return to Vilcabamba. End of the trip.
