Ecuador. Exploraves (BirdsExplore – Aratinga Aventuras Cia Ltda) is an Ecuador-based tour operator specializing in birding tours across the country.
Our tours cover Ecuador’s four regions: the Pacific Coast, Highlands, Amazon Basin, and Galapagos Islands.

Northern Ecuador.

Starting from the northern part of the country, while enjoying a spectacular succession of breathtaking landscapes, important national parks, and private reserves, we will experience an incredible variety of birds. From the highest habitats at snow-capped volcanoes to the lower ecosystems of dry forests, and finally to the endless Amazon Basin in the tropical rainforest, the diversity is unmatched. Moving toward the southwest, we will discover the unbelievable bird species of the Mangrove Forest.

Southern Ecuador.

Further south, in the provinces of Azuay, El Oro, Loja, and Zamora Chinchipe, we will visit important sites such as the Podocarpus National Park, Copalinga Reserve, the remote forests of Paquisha and Cerro de Arcos, and the Nangaritza River. These areas are home to some of the richest biodiversity of plants and animals.

In Saraguro, at Acacana Mountain, we find some important bird species such as the Red-faced Parrot, Crescent-faced Antpitta, and the elusive Chestnut-bellied Cotinga, one of the most difficult birds to spot in recent years.
