Blue-throated Hillstar southern ecuador 2023

This is a short memory of a day trip we went to Cerro de Arcos to look for the recetly discovered few years ago Blue-throated Hillstaras as part o a 10 days trip we had. As another times Pablo Andrade, my person, was leading the trip. Our participant was Stefano Barchiesi from Italy and our friend the driver Luis Mejia as a part of the team.

This january 5th we got to Cerro de Arcos ealry in the morning, on a spectacular clear day without winds started our walking throught the pajonales on the Paramo at 3600 meters. After walking for a while and sight some Noble Snipes almost close to our feet, we stoped and after a considerable time the hummingbird appeared on the Chuquiragua Flower and we saw it very close, the impressive Blue-throated Hillstar.
