TRIP REPORT, NORTHERN ECUADOR, BY EXPLORAVES.
No one can doubt and resist in coming to Ecuador for an unforgettable birding experience. One of the reasons of choosing to come to Ecuador, is the Mindo Area in the northwest of Pichincha, designated as the first site of global importance for birds in South America, where with a bit of luck you can be able to see more than 100 bird species in a day, also visiting places such as Milpe and Silanche reserves.
This trip was of designed by Pablo Andrade, manager of Exploraves, Birding Tour Company, which was carry out in October 2017. Participants: Carol Cruzan and Michell Cruzan
Our program was of 8 days 7 nights, and the places visited were Sachatamia Lodge, Angel Paz, Río Nambillo, Antisana Reserve, and the amazon in Sani Lodge.
Among the large amount of birds we saw and heard I can mention. severals:

Lettered Aracari, Chestnut-eared Aracari, Many-banded Aracari, White-throated Toucan, Choco Toucan, Channel-billed Toucan, Olivaceous Piculet, Crimsom-crested Woodpecker, Laughing Falcon, Orange-breasted Falcon, Yellow-crowned Parrot, Mealy Parrot, Orange-winged Parrot, Red-bellied Macaw, Blue and Yellow Macaw, Chestnut-fronted Macaw, Cocha Antshrike, Dusky-throated Antshrike, Cinereous Antshrike, Pacific Antwren, Black-faced Antbird, Silvered Antbird, Plumbeous Antbird, Sooty antbir, Dot-backed Antbird, Common-scale Backed Antbird, Reddish-winged Bare-Eye, Giant Antpitta, Moustache Antpitta, Yellow-breasted, Rufous, Tawny and Ochre-breasted Antpittas, Strong-billed Woodcreeper, Buff-throated Woodcreeper, Buff-fronted Foliage gleaner, Marble-faced Bristle-Tyrant, Cinnamon Attila, Citron-bellied Attila, Andean Cock of the Rock, Plum-throated Cotinga, Wire-tailed Manakin, Golden-headed Manakin, Black-tailed Tityra, Black-crowned Tityra, White-winged Becard, One-colored Becard, Tawny-crowned Greenlet, White-capped Dipper, Ecuadorian Thrush Paramo Pipit, Many tanagers among them: Black-chested Mountain Tanager, Opal-rumped Tanager, Green-and-gold Tanager, Golden Tanager, Giant Conebill, Oriole Blackbird, Golden-bellied Euphonia, Rufous-bellied Euphonia, Hooded Siskin.
Top Birds: Plate –billed Mountain Toucan, Toucan barbet, Cocha Antshrike.
